The U.S., Japan, Australia and India have come together in high-level meetings to coordinate and cooperate on common security challenges in the Indo-Pacific, including territorial disputes, violations of the international rules-based order, and economic coercion. While remaining short of a formal alliance, this grouping of key regional democracies can organize significant collective action on areas of overlapping national interest. What are the top security priorities for each country, individually and together, in next five years? How can the four countries work with each other and with like-minded partners to advance common interests? And what are the main barriers, if any, to quadrilateral cooperation? The NCAFP convened experts from all four sides to discuss the future of the Quad.
