US-China-Japan Trilateral Dialogue Report: Avenues of Cooperation Amidst Continuing Tensions
On May 21, 2019, the Forum on Asia-Pacific Security (FAPS) of the NCAFP conducted a trilateral Track II dialogue in New York City involving scholars and former officials from the United States, China, and Japan. Participants discussed the prospects for trilateral and broader multilateral cooperation in addressing Northeast Asian security challenges, including how to construct a stable balance of power in Asia and how to establish rules within a competitive environment.
