On September 26, the NCAFP was honored to host H.E. Ms. Teuta Sahatqija, Ambassador and Consul General of the Republic of Kosovo in New York City. Ambassador Sahatqija very ably stood in for H.E. Mr. Behgjet Pacolli, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kosovo, who was called away to another engagement.
The wide-ranging conversation was held under Chatham House Rules and touched on important subjects such as Kosovo's economic prospects, the influence of external actors, and the country's relationship with Serbia. A particularly poignant question considered the greatest successes achieved and challenges still faced by Kosovo in the 20 years since independence was declared.
The NCAFP's May 2018 report on the Western Balkans paid close attention to Kosovo and was referred to often. The report can be read in its entirety here.
