The Forum on Asia-Pacific Security’s Annual Trip to Asia

The NCAFP’s Forum on Asia-Pacific Security recently completed a three-week trip to the capitals of the Republic of China, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and Japan.  During this trip, the NCAFP delegation met with a host of government officials, scholars and local leaders in order to further their mission of alleviating tensions in that part of the world.  Some of the officials met by the delegation included Ma Ying-jeou, President of the Republic of China, Zhang Zhijun, Minister of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the PRC State Council, and Hong Yong-pyo, Minister of Unification in the Republic of Korea.

The NCAFP delegation included Grace Kennan Warnecke, Chairman of the Board of the NCAFP; the Honorable J. Stapleton Roy, Distinguished Scholar & Founding Director Emeritus, Kissinger Institute on China and the United States, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars; Evans J.R. Revere, Nonresident Senior Fellow, Center for East Asia Policy Studies, Brookings Institution; Rear Admiral (ret.) Michael McDevitt, Senior Fellow, Center for Naval Analyses; Professor Gerald Curtis, Professor of Political Science and Director for Toyota Research Program, Columbia Weatherhead East Asia Institute; and Rorry Daniels, Associate Project Director, FAPS and Deputy Director of the NCAFP.
