On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, the National Committee hosted a panel on how the recently-negotiated nuclear deal with Iran would effect that nation and the region. This panel was moderated by Warren Hoge of the International Peace Institute, and featured Gary Samore of Harvard's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and Gary Sick of Columbia University's Middle East Institute. Dr. Samore focused his comments on the specifics of the nuclear deal itself, in an effort to dispel any confusion about its provisions. Dr. Sick utilized his regional expertise to reflect on the deal's potential impact on Iran and the broader Middle East.
A spirited round of Q&A with questions from Mr. Hoge and the audience helped all in attendance to construct an understanding of the deal through their expertise.
