Southeast Asian economies are an increasingly significant part of the global growth equation, due to both population growth and the dynamism of global integration. Against the backdrop of rising US-China geostrategic competition and a decelerating globalization process, major powers like the US and Japan are seeking to deepen regional integration and connectivity while also protecting security interests in service of the region's needs. However, these strategies are not necessarily cooperative or implemented in deep consultation with the regional recipients.

Please join our panelists from the US, Japan and ASEAN member states as they identify the challenges and opportunities in regional strategic competition, especially amid US-China tensions. What are the most critical areas of focus for Southeast Asia? How can the major powers seeking engagement better contribute to regional peace and prosperity? What is the role of ASEAN in the current international environment?
