Former U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan (2009-11)

For nearly twenty years the United States and allied forces maintained a substantial military, civic, and humanitarian presence in Afghanistan.  However, with the withdrawal of forces looming, the world has watched in shock as the Taliban rapidly retook nearly the entire country within days, setting into motion a humanitarian and migration crisis of tremendous proportions.  What are the circumstances that brought us to this point, and importantly, what comes next?  Join the NCAFP as we host a high-level panel of former U.S. officials who have played leading roles in U.S. policy toward Afghanistan since 2001 as they answer as they address these questions and more.

The event will be conducted via the video conferencing platform Zoom, which works on PC, Mac, or mobile devices. You do not need to create an account to use it. Guests will have the option to join the meeting through the Zoom application, or by calling in by phone.

In order to streamline the Q&A portion of the conversation, all guests will have their video feeds disabled.  We ask that guests submit all questions through the Q&A function or the chat box.  If you don't wish to use these functions, or will join by phone, please submit questions in advance or real time to contact@ncafp.org .

This event is open to NCAFP Members and the public.
